When/ how did you fall in love with fitness?
I was always active growing up, but it wasn’t until I joined a gym in college that I realized how much I loved fitness. I was able to let off steam, stay focused, and I liked how my body felt. During this time is when I started trying different classes, like kickboxing, Zumba, spinning, yoga, etc. I loved group classes and I fed off the energy of the people in the room. Even today, I find myself wanting to try any new workout at least once.
Guilty pleasure:
Reality tv, pretty much any show on Bravo – at the end of the day, my couch and an episode of Southern Charm or Real Housewives is all I need.
Who do you look up to?
My parents-they are the hardest working people I know. I have so much respect for what they have done and what they continue to do for my family.
What song instantly puts you in a good mood?
Return of the Mack. Hands down. It’s one of my favorite 90’s songs! Whenever it comes on, especially if I am in the car, the windows go down and the volume goes all the way up!
Something that would surprise us about you?
I’m an only child!
Post-workout go-to food
Protein bar and lots of water
What motivates you?
People who work their hardest, motivate me to work just as hard!
What kind of music can we expect in your class?
A mix of everything! I honestly love ALL types of music. Expect some of today’s hits, remixes and definitely some throwbacks (who doesn’t like a good throwback?!)
Best advice you’ve ever received?
“It will all work out in the end” When I am in a rut, I always remind myself of this. While in the moment, I think things never will..but in time, they eventually do.
Favorite pre-class snack?
A banana with almond butter and coconut flakes
How did you get inspired to be an instructor?
I started getting into spinning after college. I took classes a few times a week, never thinking I would ever become an instructor. After taking classes for a few years, I was encouraged to get certified. I am SO happy I made this decision!
Describe yourself in three words:
Outgoing, patient, positive
What are your hobbies outside the fitness world?
I love going to concerts! I go to as many as I can throughout the year. I am already planning on going to Foo Fighters and Taylor Swift this summer.
Celebrity crush?
Zac Efron, Jimmy Garoppalo, Tim Tebow, Justin Timberlake.. Couldn’t pick one 😉
What were you like as a kid?
Outgoing, happy, and on the go!
Favorite childhood memory:
My favorite childhood memory is the first time I went to Disney World when I was 5 years old. The first park we went to was the Magic Kingdom. We took the monorail in, and we got to sit in the first car with the conductor. As the monorail turned the corner, my eyes grew in excitement when I saw Cinderella’s castle. I will never forget how excited I was!
Something you’re proud of:
I recently did a career change and I am so happy I did. I am proud that I passed my boards and become a certified occupational therapy assistant and I am able to live out my dream of working with children! It was a lot of hard work and I am so happy everything has come together. I am also proud of myself for getting out of my comfort zone and getting certified to teach spin. I never imagined this is what I would be doing with my life, but I am loving it!
What is your Fit Rev Mantra?
“Leave it all on the bike”. During the last song and right before the last sprint, I like to tell the class to give it 100% and “leave it all on the bike”. The energy and the determination from everyone gets me every time!
