Q: When/how did you fall in love with fitness?

I fell in love with fitness my sophomore year of college. Growing up, I was a dancer and cheerleader but wasn’t super active. Something sparked my second year at SNHU and I started moving and treating my body better. I was a tour guide on campus and each tour was probably around 3 miles of walking and I was also obsessed with Zumba. Being on the dance team was great as well. Once I realized how important exercise was, I explored other types – finding spin!

Q: What advice would you give your younger self?
STOP BEING SO HARD ON YOURSELF. I still try to remind myself of this – we are only human and I think we so often forget that. I wish I could tell my younger self to slow down and enjoy being young, just have fun and always remember that everything happens for a reason.

Q: Two songs you can’t stop listening to right now?

Silence – Marshmello (Illenium Remix) and Lose Myself – Seven Lions

Q: What’s your secret talent?

Only thing I can think of is I used to be a violin player for 8 years –  definitely not something everyone knows about me!

Q: How did you get inspired to be an instructor?

After graduating college, I didn’t work the typical 9-5 right out of school, allowing me to go to fitness classes in the middle of the day. I had always been intimidated by spin and my personal trainer Linda at the time convinced me to give it another try. I also attended a strength class every Monday with a woman named Vicki who always put the idea in my head to teach but I never believed I could. She always encouraged me even when I didn’t believe in myself. Once I started working my first office job I wanted something MORE and a new challenge – my love for fitness was constantly growing so I took the next step and got spin certified. It is amazing to see how quickly that spin certification became my group fitness certification and personal training certification as well.

Q: Go-to Fit Rev class (other than yours, of course)

Fit Strength! I love this class so much (I love all of the classes at FR). As a spin instructor I do a ton of cardio in the week and always try my best to make sure I get my strength training in as well. Monday, Wednesday and Friday you can find me there.
