FitRev’s Member of the Month – Dave Whitman!
It’s a new month, which means it’s time to appreciate one of our own members for an entire month. FitRev is so excited to announce Dave Whitman as our New Member of the Month for April! Dave is new to FitRev and has been beyond motivated. His positive attitude and passion is contagious. Dave, thank you for making FitRev a better place!
Check out some Q&A’s with Dave, below!
When you’re not at FR or at work, where can we find you? Most likely a hockey rink because my son skates 5 times per week.
What’s your favorite post-workout snack/meal? I always have whey protein and unsulfured molasses after a workout. I can always tell the next day if I forget to have it.
What keeps you motivated? My wife is always encouraging me. Every time I get home from a workout she says that she is proud of me. To her it seems like a small gesture, but it means everything to me.
Any mantra you repeat during an especially grueling workout? I just try and think of a song and sing it in my mind. No song in particular, just something that I heard that day.
Which superpower would you like to have? Is teleporting a power? I love vacationing to places I have never been, but I hate getting up early only to get to the airport hours before your flight is scheduled only to have it delayed and then you sit around and wait. If you can teleport, you would be there instantly!
What do you want to be when you grow up? When I was younger, I always wanted to be a professional hockey player. But a high school injury and a lack of talent made me retire from the sport. No worries though, I became an accountant.
You’re a semifinalist on American Idol. Which song to do sing to win it all? Only the best song ever made…Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice!
Have you ever had a nickname? What is it? DJ. I know it’s simple but my name is David Jon so I was always called DJ growing up.
Starbucks or Dunkin? Dunkin
What’s your favorite memory at FitRev? Getting recognized for member of the month. I thought I was getting balloons because Michelle thought it was my birthday (which it wasn’t). I had no idea what was going on but it really made my day. I know I have a lot of work left to do but this type of recognition makes me want to work even harder.
