DECEMBER MEMBER OF THE MONTH: GERI FARRELLY!

 In News

Congrats to Geri on being named FitRev’s December Member of the Month! This is long overdue and the perfect way to wrap up 2018. Michelle & Geri met 6 years ago, and Geri was ready to change her life. Geri worked hard every single day and one year later, she was 100lbs lighter. She is an OG of FitRev and an inspiration to all of us. Congrats to Geri on all of her fitness and lifestyle accomplishments. December is the month to celebrate YOU!

This is a reminder to all of us: you can do anything you set your mind to.

Geri’s FitRev Q&A below!

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I love what I do, but my Dream was always to be a professional downhill skier. Skiing was my first true love.

Which superpower would you like to have?  I would like to be able to divide myself in half which would allow me to be in 2 places at once. I always wish I had more time to spend with family and friends and to get things done.

What are you known for?

I actually have no idea what I am known for but I hope it’s to be hardworking, kind and funny. And a great singer 😉

If you could live anywhere for one year where would you live?

I would live in Ireland specifically in Ballinamore, County Leitrim my husband is from here and we have visited several times. When we go we stay at the house he grew up in which is on a very large working farm. It is absolutely beautiful and the way of life is so peaceful.

What were you like in high school?
Let’s just say if my boys were like me I would have killed them 🙂

Truth or dare?
Dare

If you could be any age for one week, what age would you choose and why?

I would love to be 45 and be in the shape I am now so I could run around and play with the boys easier than I could when I was actually 45.

What are your favorite and least favorite words?

Favorite is “Thank you”

Least Favorite is “I Can’t “

If you had a warning label on you, what would it be?

May spontaneously break out in song totally off key.

What’s one thing you will never do again?

I smoked for years, I quit when I was 49 and I would never ever smoke again.

If I had one more hour in the day, I would…

Spend it just hanging out with my husband and sons.

What’s one thing about you someone wouldn’t know unless they really knew you?

I actually get extremely uncomfortable going to an event or social gathering by myself I am actually shy when I have to meet new people or if I get into a new situation.

Who has inspired you in your life and why?

The person who has inspired me most is my godfather/uncle Gino. He raised 5 children pretty much on his own after my aunt passed away the children where 16-9 years old. But no matter what life dealt him he always has a kind word, or a smile for everyone. Makes everyone he is with feel like the most important person. And at 90 he still does. I try to be like this every day.

Speaking of inspiration, the story of how you turned your health and lifestyle around is quite inspiring.  What advice do you give to someone who wants to make a similar, drastic improvement in their own life?

If you want to make a positive change you have to believe in yourself, it’s best to have a supportive group/family in your corner but you have to believe you can do it. Then break it up into small victories once you hit one or two small goals you will start to feel and see the positive changes which helps you to keep going. My favorite quote that I repeated daily while I was/am going through some really challenging times is “Believe in yourself know there is something inside you greater than any obstacle” if I can achieve this anyone can..

What’s your favorite FitRev memory?

That’s a hard one I have so many. Probably telling Michelle I had lost the 100lbs is something I will never forget.  But so many great memories singing in class, creating a human pyramid for a contest. Running and finishing my first ½ marathon. So many great memories at Fit Rev I really can’t pick one.

Any mantra you repeat during an especially grueling workout?

You really don’t want to know, definitely not suitable for publishing. 😉
