FitRev’s March Member of the Month – Katie Theriault!
Meet Fit Revolution’s March Member of the Month, Katie!
Katie aka Kate The Great shares her favorite MarketStreet activity, what keeps her motivated, and more.
When you’re not at FR or at work, where can we find you?
At Market Street shopping, I mean “doing returns” (don’t tell my husband:), or shuffling the kids to various kids activities!
What’s your favorite post-workout snack/meal?
Isagenix Vanilla shake or a Guacamole Greens from sweetgreen.
Who or what keeps you motivated?
I have some of the most fitness-oriented friends around, and for some reason I get MapMyRun alerts whenever one of my good friend runs (which is nearly every morning at 6 am no matter the weather), so whenever I see that she has already run 5-8 miles by 7, and I am debating whether or not to skip the gym. It immediately motivates me to get moving!
Any mantra you repeat during an especially grueling workout?
You don’t get stronger by not pushing yourself!
Which superpower would you like to have?
The ability to clone myself!
Who has inspired you in your life and why?
My grandmother. She lost my grandfather to leukemia at 41 and raised 7 kids under the age of 11 on her own, never feeling sorry for herself or rarely asking for help. She was the strongest and most humble person I have ever met, and whenever I am having an overwhelming moment with my kids or even in everyday life, I think about her and it snaps me out of it!
What do you want to be when you grow up?
Still trying to figure that out!
If you had the luxury of time to re-read one book, which one would you choose?
In College I read James Patterson’s “Suzanne’s Diary for Nicholas” as a quick, fun read, and this quote as always stuck with me. I think of it especially, when I am starting to overcommit myself and need reassurance to say “no” every once in a while
“Imagine life is a game in which you are juggling five balls. The balls are called work, family, health, friends, and integrity. And you’re keeping all of them in the air. But one day you finally come to understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. The other four balls…are made of glass. If you drop one of these, it will be irrevocably scuffed, nicked, perhaps even shattered.”
If you could live anywhere for one year where would you live?
After this past week, somewhere where it is sunny warm all year round!
What is your biggest pet peeve?
People being late
Have you ever had a nickname? What is it?
My dad always called me Kate The Great growing up!
If you had a warning label on you, what would it say?
Caution, morning person! I love to get up early and am often accused of having too much energy first thing in the morning!
Starbucks or Dunkin?
Neither, I am a Heav’nly Girl, I get a Coconut/Mochanut Iced Coffee with a splash of milk, every single day!
What’s one thing you will never do again?
Still working on it, but convincing myself that I can’t do certain things.
If I had one more hour in the day, I would…
Research more healthy dinner recipes. I love cooking healthy recipes, but need to do a better job of expanding my recipe box!
What’s one thing about you someone wouldn’t know unless they really knew you?
I don’t feel comfortable around people who I don’t know very well. I am outgoing by nature, so sometimes that surprises people!
If you could create your very own workout what would it include?
It would be a combination class of Kickboxing and Barre!
What’s your favorite memory at FitRev?
2 or 3 years ago on a warm day we were holding the class outside and running between FitRev and the office park next to us and a deer charged at us!
