Interview with Jenn Berg, FitRev’s January Member of the Month, below!

When you’re not at FR or at work, where can we find you?  Hanging out with my Catahoula Leopard Dog, Bo.  She’s a super high-energy, extremely quirky, 5 ½ year old hound that I rescued from a shelter in Tennessee…outside of all my workouts at FitRev, I average 15 miles a week walking with Bo, and I couldn’t imagine life without her!

What keeps you motivated?  Results!!!  In the 2 ½ years I’ve been a FitRev member I’ve lost 35 pounds of fat while gaining 15 pounds of muscle.  Of course I attribute so much of this to daily workouts but cannot thank Michelle enough for introducing the Whole30 program to me in January of 2014.  Since then, I’ve completed 4 additional Whole30’s and lead a paleo lifestyle the rest of the time.

Any mantra you repeat during an especially grueling workout?  “I feel great!” – which I only need after mile 4 or 5 of a run…and it usually doesn’t work

Who has inspired you in your life and why?  My brother, Eric.  He has muscular dystrophy and has been confined to a wheelchair for the past 15 years.  Even though he was dealt such a rotten hand in life he never complains about his situation and just makes the best out of what he’s able to do.  This is what keeps me going most days…when I don’t want to run another mile or do another 15 burpees I just remind myself how many people there are that would love to have the ability to do so.

What’s your favorite memory at FitRev?  My first class!  It was my first ever spin class, and I was terrified but Michelle was seriously so funny telling a story about one of her kids that I can’t even repeat here and all of the ‘regulars’ (Geri and Jen Ryan!) were so nice and welcoming to me.  We were on top of each other doing RIP Cycle in the old spin room, but had so much fun I couldn’t wait to come back.

Congrats, Jenn! Thank you for being apart of our Fit Rev Family! You are AMAZING!! We love you!
